This tale is relatively recent and tragic…and so human. Most of us have exhibited poor judgement from time to time…usually when we are younger, but kids aren’t the only ones who drive too fast, climb too high, reach too far or risk too much. We tend to do this with a so-called “partner in crime”…someone who encourages and/or participates in risky behavior with us. This video from the excellent Mentour Pilot podcast series illustrates this can happen at any age.
NOTE: This is essentially an illustrated oral explanation of this event. So if you are concerned with visiual horror, don’t worry. However, it is exceedingly sad and forced me to think back on poor judgments and naive risk taking…both my own foolish mistakes and those of people I observed….in industry, in cars, in planes, and in life.
