Shrimp Tales 2: The Women of Shrimping is the second book on shrimping by Red Engine Press. Published in 2025, it tells the story of the women involved in South Texas shrimping.

The women face the possibility that their husbands might not return. For this purpose, there is a huge statue, the Cristo de los Pescadores, that has a plaque listing the names of the men who did not return.

Women don’t set sail but stay home to act as company bookkeepers, net makers and repairers, and families support. They run the home by themselves much of the time.

The book is interesting and well researched, giving readers a deep look into the women and their families and the way that all members pull together to make a success of shrimping.
