Glenda Jackson, the actor who became a member of British Parliament, died on June 15. She was 87.
When she was starting out, the movie industry told her that she would only be able to garner character rolls because of her looks. She went on to win two Oscars and a Tony for her stage work.
She tired of acting and because a member of Parliament for the Labour Party For 25 years. Then, at the age of 80, she returned to the stage.
She was made a dame by Queen Elizabeth II.
