In book three of the NCO Trilogy, Three Wars, we learn the continued stories of three families with soldiers in World War II, Korea, and Vietnam—the Redmonds, Montrells, and Crucianellis.
The book has three parts, each telling about a particular war and the members of the families who participated in it. Chapter headings tell where it is taking place and what military unit it is about. The book also has a prologue and epilogue that pull everything together.
Campolo has made the story come alive with his storytelling ability and his description of the action. Of the three books, this one is my favorite.
This book can be read as a single story, but the experience is much richer if you read all three books together.
