Book Review: MURDER IS FOR THE BIRDS, Pat McGrath Avery

An editor winds up dead and three of his clients are suspects in the killing. Which one was the culprit? It takes Rachel, a local investigator, Hap Lynch, a former police officer, and Luke, the Detective Dog, to figure it out.

The tale is a cozy mystery that steers away from bad language, sex, and extreme violence. The murderer drops comments in italics every so often to advance the plot.

Murder is for the Birds is interesting with its puzzle pieces and Luke’s part in discovering the murderer. The story could have been better fleshed out and extended into a longer tale with more twists and turns, but it was an enjoyable read.
